How to Make Palm Tree Wedding Favors Out of Toilet Paper Rolls
If you are looking for an inexpensive wedding favor that will look great on display and will be a lovely keepsake, try making palm trees from toilet paper rolls. It is an environmentally friendly way to surprise your guests while keeping your wallet a little greener as well. The project will also be a stress-free way for the bride-to-be to prepare for her big day.
Things You'll Need
- Scissors
- Brown tissue paper
- Toilet paper rolls
- Glue sticks
- Green tissue paper
- Green and brown ribbon, beads and sequins (optional)
Instructions
-
-
1
Cut the brown tissue paper into strips that are several inches long and about an inch wide.
-
2
Wrap the brown tissue paper strips around the toilet paper rolls and secure them with glue. Start with one strip and then add more layers to give the trunk portion of your toilet paper palm tree more depth.

-
3
Cut the green tissue paper into five-inch squares.
-
4
Cut each corner of the green tissue paper square into a diamond shape, leaving the center portion of the square intact.
-
5
Pinch the center of the green tissue and glue it to the inside portion of the toilet paper roll. Fan the diamonds over the side of the roll. Repeat with more green tissue paper until the roll is as full and leafy as you like.
-
6
Glue beads, sequins or ribbons to the trees to decorate them and give them a little extra flair. This step is optional, but it can go a long way toward giving your toilet paper roll palm tree wedding favors that little something special.

Tips & Warnings
If you have trouble making your palm trees stand up on their own, purchase small balloon weights to place on the tables and slide the bottoms of your trees over them.
