Instructions

  1. Chocolate Egg-Filled Nests

    • 1

Cut a large piece of wax paper and lay it over the top of a 6-muffin baking pan. Press down over each muffin cup to force the wax paper into the cups.

    • 2

Pour 1 1/2 cups of chow mein noodles into a medium mixing bowl.

    • 3

Place one cup of chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 15-second intervals, stirring between each one, until the chocolate is melted. You can use white chocolate if you prefer for lighter colored nests, or mix in a few drops of food coloring with the melted white chocolate to add some color instead.

    • 4

Pour the chocolate over the top of the noodles and mix thoroughly.

    • 5

Spoon the mixture onto the wax paper in the depressions over each muffin cup on the pan. Press down on the center of each nest with your spoon to form the nest shape. Cool the nests in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

    • 6

Fill the depressions in the center of each nest with foil-wrapped Easter egg chocolates, jelly beans or other egg-shaped candies or chocolate.

    • 7

Wrap each nest in cellophane wrap and tie the wrap above the nest with a ribbon.

    Easter Egg Cookie Bouquet

    • 8

Mix the sugar cookie dough in a medium mixing bowl and lay the dough on a lightly floured surface. Sprinkle your clean work surface with a little bit of flour and roll out the dough until it's 1/4-inch thick. Use the Easter egg cookie cutters to cut out shapes from the dough.

    • 9

Spread a coating of royal icing on the cookies or fill a pastry bag with the royal icing and decorate the Easter egg cookies with lines, squiggles and shapes.

    • 10

Wrap one cookie in cellophane and secure the cellophane underneath the bottom of the cookie with an elastic band. Repeat for each cookie.

    • 11

Gather a few Easter egg cookies in one hand and tie a ribbon around the wooden dowels to complete the bouquet.
