Troubleshooting a Polaroid T831

Verify that the battery is inserted and installed correctly if the camera does not turn on.

Charge the battery until it has a full charge if the camera still does not turn on or the buttons do not work.

Turn the camera off, then wait at least an hour before turning it back on if the battery or camera feels warm.

Press the shutter button all the way down if the camera fails to capture a picture. Delete unwanted files on the memory card or replace write-protected memory cards if the camera still fails to take a picture.

Increase the brightness level if images do not display on the LCD monitor. Press the "Mode" camera icon button. Press the "Menu" button and use the directional arrow buttons to make your selections. Select "Capture," "Function" and "Setup." Select "LCD Bright" and press the "Set" button. Press the "Up" arrow button to increase the brightness level.

Wipe the lens with lens paper or a dry, soft cloth if the camera's Auto Focus setting does not focus. Move the subject within the range of focus.

Use the camera to format the memory card if the images do not play back, then retake the photos with the camera-formatted memory card.

Cancel file protection if the images still do not play back or a file does not delete. Press the "Play" button, select "Protect" and press the "Set" button. Select "All" or "Single" and press the "Set" button, then select "Cancel Protect" and press the "Set" button.

Verify that your computer has at least the same amount of memory available as the camera's inserted memory card if you cannot download images. Charge the battery if images still do not download.
