How to Clean Smelly Boxing Gloves
That fresh, off-the-shelf smell that emanates from new boxing gloves is unlikely to last long without a proper cleaning regimen. Boxing gloves not only become blighted with blood, sweat and tears when in contact with an opponent; the interior of the gloves also suffer due to the buildup of sweat and bacteria, which can lead to horrible odors. Fortunately, you can remove these smells using some basic household items.

1
Spread your fingers out close to the aperture to widen the opening of the boxing glove. Spray the inside of your boxing gloves with a household odor eliminator, such as Febreze. Odor eliminators get rid of unpleasant smells from fabrics such as clothes and household fabrics. Many odor eliminators also have anti-bacterial properties which can prevent bacteria from multiplying inside the gloves.

2
Lay the boxing gloves down or hang them from a wall hook to dry. Loosen the apertures of the gloves and widen as much as possible. This will ensure oxygen will reach the interior to allow for air drying.

Tips & Warnings
Maintain your boxing gloves. Wipe off the outside of your gloves with a clean, soft cloth after every bout or practice session. This will not only prolong the life of the gloves, but also make it easier to identify any cracks.
Air out your boxing gloves immediately after a fight. Placing them in a gym bag or locker will exacerbate unpleasant odors as they will receive a limited supply of air.
Shoe odor eliminators are also effective at removing unpleasant odors from the inside of boxing gloves.
