Removing Sticker Residue From Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is often used for kitchen appliances.

If you've ever purchased something that had a price sticker on it, you may have been left with a gummy adhesive after the sticker was removed. If you have this problem on an item that is made of stainless steel, the cleanup process is very simple. You do have to be careful, however, when removing adhesive residue from stainless steel. If you use products that are highly abrasive, you can damage the stainless steel and cause it to be at risk for corrosion.

Things You'll Need

• Eucalyptus oil, baby oil, olive oil or vegetable oil
• Cloth
• Dish soap

Instructions

1. Moisten a soft cloth with a few drops of oil.

2. Rub the sticky residue with the cloth, using a circular motion.

3. Wipe away the rubbed up residue with a dry cloth.

4. Wet a cloth with warm, soapy water and wring it out. Use this cloth to wipe the spot where the residue used to be.

5. Dry the surface with a lint-free cloth.
