How to Make a Wristband for Tennis
Although they can be used as a fashion statement or accessory, tennis wristbands help a tennis player's performance by absorbing sweat from their hands and wrists. Wristbands can also be used to wipe away dirt and sweat from the face, eyes and brows during game play when players can't take a break. Wristbands can be purchased at most sporting good stores, but they can also be made at home with a few materials and a little bit of time.

1
Start by measuring the circumference of your wrist. Add around 2 inches to your measurement which will be used when you are cutting the fabric. Cut your fabric 4 inches wide, and use your wrist measurement to cut the length size. Lay the fabric flat down once you have finished cutting.

2
Starting at the edge of the width side of the fabric, measure 1 inch and make a light mark with a fabric pencil. Place a ruler along the fabric, and create straight line down the side of the fabric; then place a line of fabric glue down both sides.

Fold the edges of the cloth, so they meet the lines of the fabric glue; then push them together. Give the glue time to dry, which will take around 15 minutes. Thread a needle with threading that matches the color of your fabric; then sew the ends of the fabric together. Make sure to keep the stitches as small as possible.

Place a knot at the end of the thread once you are finished, making certain that it is attached securely. Cut the leftover thread attached to the needle and wristband; then turn your wristband inside out.
