Stain Removal Suggested by Coca-Cola
-
1
Fill a bucket with 2 cups cold water. Add 1 tablespoon of a mild laundry detergent to the bucket. Shake or stir the bucket's contents until all of the detergent dissolves. Dampen a white cloth in the solution.
-
2
Wipe the stained spot using the white cloth in a gentle, circular motion to remove the stain. Once most of the stain is removed, set a dry, white cloth atop the stain. Place something heavy on top of the dry cloth, such as a book or lamp.

-
3
Leave the quilt overnight. Remove the heavy object and white cloth left on the stain. If the stain persists, take the quilt to a dry cleaning service. Do not use a hair dryer or put the quilt into the dryer if it is still wet, as heat will permanently set the stain.
Alternative Stain Removal Method

4
Soak a cloth in cool or cold water and dab at the stain on the quilt. Do not scrub the quilt, as this may cause the stain to spread. Each dab should remove the stain a little at a time. Continue to dab at the stain for about a half-hour.
-
5
Apply a prewash stain remover to the stain. Follow all directions on the bottle. You may not be able to use every brand of stain remover on your quilt, depending on the type of quilt.
-
6
Launder the quilt in a washing machine if it can fit into it. Wash in warm water.
