How to Make a Friendship Bracelet With Words

In elementary and middle school, one of the most creative and visible ways to display your friendship for another girl is by making a friendship bracelet. You can make friendship bracelets out of a variety of supplies that you can obtain at your local arts and crafts store. When it comes to friendship bracelets, there are no real parameters on style or materials. Your creativity is the only limit.

Instructions

    • 1

Select the beads that you wish to work with. These can be pewter beads, semiprecious gems, or anything in between. In addition to crafts stores, new age shops typically have an array of beads to adorn your bracelet.

    • 2

Wrap a length of string around your friend's wrist and measure the string against a ruler to determine her wrist size. Add 1/2 inch to the measurement.

    • 3

Cut the appropriate length of jewelry wire, using a pair of wire cutters.

    • 4

String beads onto the wire, then thread on the letter beads. Use the letter beads to create the desired expression, for example, "I Love You" or "Best Friends Forever."

    • 5

Finish threading any additional beads along the wire.

    • 6

Use pliers to create two loops -- one at each end of the bracelet. Use pliers to attach jump rings to both ends.

    • 7

Add the clasp to each of the jump rings.
