Instructions

    • 1

Measure the circumference of the crown of your head. Cut a piece of floral wire 2 inches longer than the measurement.

    • 2

Form the wire into a circle, overlapping the last inch on each end of the crown. Twist the ends around to secure the circle.

    • 3

Wrap floral tape round floral wire to further secure it and protect yourself from the ends of the wire. Start by placing the cut end of the tape over the twisted ends of the wire. Wrap the tape around the wire, overlapping the tape 1/4-inch on each pass until the entire crown is wrapped. Then, cut the end of the tape.

    • 4

Wrap the crown with silk vines. Use ivy or any other vine you can find. Use floral tape to secure one loose end to the crown and wrap it around. Cut away any excess vines and secure the loose end by wrapping the floral tape around the ivy and the crown.

    • 5

Remove the blooms off a silk poinsettia plant. Apply hot glue to the underside of the blooms. Press the blooms to the side of the vine-covered crown. Place one bloom ever 3 inches.

Tips & Warnings

  • If desired, cut four pieces of 1/4-inch satin ribbon, each 24 inches long. Choose one color or several colors. Fold the ribbons in half over the twisted end of the wire. Tie a knot in them to secure them to the crown, allowing the loose ends to hang down. Do this before the vines are added.

  • Instead of vines, use satin ribbon to wrap the wire. Then secure the blooms to the ribbon instead of the vines.

  • Avoid potential burns. Never touch the hot glue or the tip of the hot glue gun while working with it.
