DIY Brick Stitch Triangles
Brick stitched triangles can be made from simple plastic pony beads or by using elegant glass beads to make a necklace or bracelet for a formal occasion. The technique can be done by children for craft projects at school, camp or church as well as utilized by professional jewelry designers. The triangle can be as large as you'd like it, or contain as few as six beads. Pony-style beads are typically used for brick stitching projects. Seed beads can be used for making tighter triangles with the brick stitch, but this also requires a steady hand and close attention to detail.

1
Thread your beading needle, and slip the needle through a bead. Slide a second bead onto the thread, then push the needle back through the first bead. Slip it through the second bead again, connecting the two beads with the sides touching.
-
2
Add another bead to the chain by connecting it to the second bead. Continue until the row is as long as you desire the base of your triangle.

-
3
Pick up two beads with the needle, and slide them down the thread. Slip the needle under the loop between the second and third beads on the first row. Pull tight.
-
4
Put one bead on the thread, and push the needle through the loop between the third and forth beads on the first row. Pull tight.
-
5
Repeat adding one bead and pulling the thread through the next loop until you've run out of loops. Add another row in the same manner as you did in Step 2. Continue until there is only one loop and one bead at the top of the triangle. Knot your thread around the bead to secure it.
