How to Make a Minipaper Hat
Miniature hats made out of paper can be useful to children who want to decorate their toys, or even for teenagers or adults who can use them as part of a fancy dress. Virtually every type of hat is possible to create using everyday materials, but hats with flat tops, like Spanish hats and top hats, can be made solely out of construction paper. However, using one material does not automatically make the craft simple, as you must be extra cautious when drawing, cutting out and sticking together the hat's small paper parts.

1
Draw two concentric circles on your sheet of construction paper with a compass. The inner circle must measure 2 inches in diameter, while the outer circle must feature a 3-inch diameter.
-
2
Cut along the circular lines with a utility knife to remove a 2-inch diameter circle and a ring measuring 1 inch in width from the construction paper sheet. The circle will be your hat's top, and the ring will be its brim.

3
Design a rectangle measuring 6.5 inches in length using a ruler. The width of the rectangle depends on the type of hat you want to create: 1 inch for the Spanish hat and 4 inches for the top hat. Cut out the rectangle.
-
4
Roll the rectangle to create a cylinder measuring 2 inches in diameter. Use glue to keep the shape of the cylinder.
-
5
Place the 2-inch diameter circle on a flat surface, and attach the cylinder over it. Cut off a small piece of sticky tape, and fix its nonsticky side on your index finger. Dip your finger into the cylinder to apply part of the tape on the circle and part on the inside of the cylinder. Repeat the process until the cylinder and circle are firmly stuck together.

6
Attach the brim on the open side of the hat. Use sticky tape on the bottom side of the brim and the inside part of the cylinder to hold the two parts together and complete the craft.
