How to Cook Play-Doh & Make It Hard
Play-Doh is a trademark name that has evolved to a general word that refers to a doughy substance used by children during playtime. The a non-toxic, flour-based dough was introduced in 1956. Children often use the dough to make a variety of shapes and designs that can be easily hardened at home to create lasting memories. Drying your Play-Doh creations is easy and your objects will be preserved so that you can possess them for years.

You can dry your Play-Doh object without using the oven by letting it set for two days at room temperature. Or, put it outside in the sun to speed up the drying process.

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit if you don't want to wait for it to dry naturally.

Place tinfoil on a baking sheet. Put the object onto the tinfoil and then place the baking sheet in the oven. Turn the oven off.

Leave the object inside the oven until the oven is cool. This will take approximately 30 minutes.

Let the Play-Doh cool, and then put any final touches on the object. You can paint the Play-Doh, glue on decorations or sand the hardened dough.

Tips & Warnings
If you find your Play-Doh cracks when you try to harden it, mix it with about a tablespoon of baking soda per cup of dough. Add just enough water to mix thoroughly.
