Instructions

    • 1

Measure up 86 inches from the floor and attach a decorative curtain rod above your window using the tools needed to install your rod's brackets. The height of the rod will allow the bottom of your curtain panels to hang just above the floor.

    • 2

Fluff two flat twin sheets in the dryer or press out the creases from the folds using an iron.

    • 3

Lay one sheet on a clean floor surface with the right side facing up. Note that the hems of a sheet are folded to the wrong side.

    • 4

Measure and fold down the top 8 inches of the sheet to the right side. This is your valance and will hang with the wrong side facing out.

    • 5

Attach seven curtain clips to the fold at the top of the valance, spacing them approximately 9 inches apart. Adjust the spacing as needed. This completes one curtain panel. Fold and attach clips to the remaining sheet to complete a matched pair of panels.

    • 6

Hang the rings on the decorative rod to complete the rustic no-sew curtains. Fluff and arrange the panels as desired.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can use colorful sheets with designs in the fabric for different room styles. These sheets will most likely have a muted wrong side that you will need to adjust with minimal sewing. Cut off the top 8 inches of the sheet, turn it around and reattach it. This way the valance and the curtain will both be hanging with their right sides facing out.

  • Choose decorative iron or wooden curtain rods for hanging rustic style curtains, or use rustic items to coordinate with a room's theme, such as fishing poles, branches, long-handled garden tools or brooms.

  • You can adjust the height of the curtain rod or the length of the valance if you want the panels to pool on the floor.
