How to Make Mobile Homes on "The Sims 2"

The Sims is a series of games produced by well-known Sim City giant Electronic Arts. Much like in Sim City, players have the opportunity to create a society from scratch and control it completely. Unlike Sim City, the focus is on the people, not industry. One task that users must perform for each family that they create is building a home. While many people choose to build large homes or mansions, these are often too expensive for new families. Create an affordable mobile home-style house for your penny-pinching sims.

Instructions

    • 1

Select the Foundation tool. Click and drag to create a rectangular foundation. Make sure that one of the longer sides of your foundation faces the street access for the home.

    • 2

Attach a smaller foundation to the front side of the rectangle for a porch. Center this porch foundation as much as you can. Be sure that the back edge of the porch foundation touches the front edge of the mobile home foundation so that they become one continuous piece.

    • 3

Choose the Stair tool and add a short staircase to the porch. Switch to the Wall tool; build a wall along each edge of the mobile home foundation so that they meet at the corner and completely enclose the mobile home. Do not build walls around the porch.

    • 4

Select the Paint tool and paint the outside of the mobile home with the texture of your choice (aluminum siding is an authentic choice.) Click on the Roof tool and select a flat roof for your mobile home. Add any landscaping that you like to the outside of the mobile home.

    • 5

Build walls inside the mobile home to define different areas. This is where you can be creative with your layout, so it is up to you where you want to place different rooms. Add doors and windows to your rooms.

    • 6

Decorate each room in your mobile home with flooring and paint. Purchase furniture and lighting fixtures and arrange them how you like. For a genuine mobile home look, combine your living room, kitchen and dining areas.
