How to Fold a Hoodie Into a Pillow
Like the fabled towel of "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" lore, a common hooded sweatshirt -- or hoodie, if you prefer -- can serve many different purposes. From laptop carry cases to baby carriers, they can do several things the manufacturers don't tell you about. Among these alternate uses, perhaps the simplest is the pillow.

1
Lay the hoodie on a flat surface, such as a table, with the sleeves outstretched to the sides and the hood open. If the hoodie is an open- or zipper-fronted type, fold the front panels closed and, if possible, fasten them together.
-
2
Starting from the bottom hem, roll the torso portion of the sweatshirt up by folding the bottom third over the middle third, and then folding that doubled layer over the top third. Larger shirts may require more folds, but the folded portion should be roughly as wide as the base of the sleeves.

3
Fold the sleeves over the rolled shirt one at a time, so that one overlaps the other. Which one is on top doesn't matter.
-
4
Fold the shoulder sides over so they meet in the middle. Fold this assembly over the neckline, so it's all resting on the hood.
-
5
Tuck the folded assembly into the hood; larger hoods may need to be folded around more than once to make a tighter bundle.
