"Wii Bowling" is easy to play but difficult to master.

Nintendo "Wii Sports" quickly became one of the best-selling games of its generation, simply because it came bundled with the Wii console itself. The game features five sports games that make use of the Wii Remote and peripherals. In order to unlock special items, such as the rainbow bowling ball, players will need to reach “Pro” level by winning skill points.

Instructions

    • 1

Load "Wii Sports" and select “Bowling.” Play single-player mode and choose the Mii character that you want to use. Press “A” to proceed.

    • 2

Use the directional buttons to position your character. Press the “A” button to turn the character on the spot. Hold “B” and draw the Wii Remote backwards, then swing your arm forwards and release “B” to throw the ball.

    • 3

Study your movements and the outcome of each swing. If you find that the ball is always swerving off to one side, either keep your arm straighter to give the ball better direction or move your Mii’s position to compensate for the veering ball.

    • 4

Use of the curve technique. Many players find that aiming the ball straight at the pins will fail to knock them all down at once. By twisting your wrist to the left or right just before releasing the ball you can curve the ball so that it comes at the pins from an angle, knocking down most, if not all of them.

    • 5

Keep playing until you are regularly hitting strikes and spares. The more points you receive in the game, the higher your skill level will become. When you reach 1,000 skill points you will be awarded “Pro” status and the rainbow ball.

Tips & Warnings

  • Remember to play on single-player mode. You can’t earn points on the multi-player game.

  • Make use of the in-game bowling training if you are having trouble. The training gives advice on picking up spares, power and spin control, and gives you a chance to practice.

  • Pay attention to the on-screen safety instructions. Keep the Wii Remote strapped to your wrist and make sure you have plenty of space around you.
