How to Make a Table Out of Skateboards
Making a table is a creative way to recycle your old skateboard. The average skateboard is 30 inches long, according to Dimensions Guide. The length of a standard skateboard makes it an ideal surface for a child-size table. Turn the skateboard into a surface suited for drawing pictures and eating lunch. You can transform a skateboard into a table using a few household tools over a weekend afternoon and surprise a child with the table as a good behavior gift or in honor of the kid's own enthusiasm for skateboarding.

1
Slide on a pair of work gloves to protect your skin.
-
2
Remove the hardware from the skate board with a screwdriver. Unscrew and discard both wheels.

3
Scrape the edges and underside surface of the board with a metal putty knife to remove any exposed wood burrs or loose paint chips. Sand the underside of the board smooth with 80 to 120 grit paper.
-
4
Place two 2-by-2-by-3-inch wood framing rails together on a flat surface with two 2-by-2-by-10-inch wood framing rails to form a 7-by-10-inch rectangle. Connect the framing rails together with 3-inch screws. Insert one screw into each corner of the frame. Repeat this step to construct a second frame. The frames will act as table legs.

5
Flip the skate board upside down. Stand each leg on one of its 7-inch ends. Place the board atop the legs. Adjust the legs so they are centered in perpendicular position under the board--one 4 inches from the left end and one 4 inches from the right end.

Insert three evenly spaced 1-inch screws through the top of the board and into the first leg. Insert three evenly spaced 1-inch screws through the top of the board and into the second leg.
