How to Make a Book With Felt Farm Animals
One way to teach toddlers about different animals is creating a book about different farm animals. Add felt animals as the pictures for a sensory exercise as well as an educational topic. Toddlers can read the book with you and feel the animals to understand the difference in texture. If you are not artistic enough to draw the animals on felt, visit a local baking shop and purchase a variety of farm animal cookie cutters to use as a stencil.

1
Open your word processor on the computer. Click "File" followed by "Page Setup" and change the page to landscape. Type the story as you wish it to appear on the page. For example, type one sentence on each page. Space the wording exactly where you want it to appear.
-
2
Place card stock in the printer. Print the story.
-
-
3
Use a permanent marker to trace felt farm animals on the felt sheet with a cookie cutter. Cut around the marker.
-
4
Glue the animal to the page using fabric glue. Glue googly eyes on the animal. Allow the pages to dry overnight.
-
5
Create a cover on cardstock for your farm animal book. Cut a farm out of felt using a red square for the building and a black triangle for the roof. Add details with glitter glue such as a door and the title of your book. Glue to the card stock and allow one night for drying time. Use a blank sheet of card stock for the back cover. The cover can measure the same size as the pages.
-
6
Line the pages and covers up in a pile. Use a hole punch and punch holes every 2 inches.
-
7
Tie a ribbon loosely through each hole to create binding.
