How to Troubleshoot a WebStar DPX100
At times, your Webstar DPX100 cable modem may not work as you expect. Power stability issues are common hindrances to its performance. Even so, most problems are easy for you to fix. Assess its external connections and the LED indicators to obtain a fast diagnosis.

Check that the cables are correct. Tighten all cables to the modem and computer.

Confirm that the modem AC adapter plug is fully inserted into the wall outlet. Turn the wall switch on if the outlet is controlled by a wall switch.

Verify that the Cable and Power LED indicators are solid.

Check that your cable service has the MAC address and serial number of your cable modem. Verify that your cable service supports two-way service and that is activated.

Confirm that your TCP/IP is configured and correctly installed if you use an Ethernet cable.

Verify that you have installed the correct USB drivers for your computer hardware if you use a USB cable.

Check that the cable input and modem are directly connected. Replace defective splitters.

Verify that the PC LED Indicator blinks or is solid when the Ethernet or USB port is used or off when a device is not connected to either port.

Check that the Data LED Indicator blinks when data is being sent or received.

Tips & Warnings
The front panel's four LED Indicators will blink slowly at the rate of one time per second when network access is denied. The Cable LED Indicator will also blink very slowly at the rate of one time every five seconds when cable modem access protection is enabled.
