How to Make an Eyeball Out of Styrofoam
Scary occasions require a scary atmosphere. One way to create just that kind of atmosphere is with props. If you are making decorations for Halloween or a scary movie party, one item you can add to the scene that fits the bill is a giant, frightening eyeball you can hang from the ceiling. An easy way to make this eye is to use a Styrofoam ball. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Paper
- Scissors
- Latex H2O spray paint in white, green and black
- Brushes
- Red markers
- String
- Metal washer
- Styrofoam-safe glue

Put some glue on one half of a washer and embed that half of the washer into the top of a Styrofoam ball. Let this dry completely. Run a piece of string through the washer before you glue it so you can hang the ball for easy painting.

Spray paint the ball completely with the white paint. Let this dry.

Use a marker to draw a circle on a sheet of paper. It should be the size you want for the iris of the eye. Use the scissors to cut out the circle to make a stencil.

Place the stencil over the front of the ball and spray through the hole with the green paint. Remove the stencil and let the paint dry.

Create another stencil for the pupil of the eye and use this to paint on a black pupil. Let this dry.

Use a red marker to add scary veins to the eye. You can now hang the eye where you need it.

Use the spray paint in a well-ventilated area and away from walls, furniture or any other items to protect them during painting.
