Instructions

    • 1

Iron your pillowcase to remove all wrinkles before you start.

    • 2

Measure 1/4 inch from the bottom of the closed end of the pillowcase with the yard stick. Draw a line at the 1/4 inch mark across the bottom of the case. Cut along the line.

    • 3

Lay the yard stick diagonally across the pillowcase. Mark with the fabric marker. Cut the pillowcase along the diagonal line.

    • 4

Open one half of the pillowcase and place the other half inside of it. Line up the bottom of the pieces. The two pieces should be facing opposite directions and there should be a V shaped open space between them. Pin the pieces together where they overlap on both sides.

    • 5

Sew the two pieces together using a straight stitch. You will sew along the hem where the two pieces adjoin diagonally. Sew the front side and then sew the back side.

    • 6

Turn the bag inside out. Hem the open bottom of the bag using a 1/4 inch seam allowance.

    • 7

Flip the bag right side out and tie the two top ends into a knot to form the strap.
