How to Link Websites to Facebook

How to Link Websites to Facebook thumbnail
Copy a website's URL directly from the site to ensure accuracy.

Linking websites to Facebook is a straightforward process. You can post links to websites in such areas as the Update Status field, in the Notes section or in the comments field beneath a picture posted on a friend's wall. When you post a link, the full uniform source locator code to the website will appear, along with a description of the website, its address and a graphic from the site.

Instructions

    • 1

Log on to the Internet with your computer.

    • 2

Click the "Bookmarks" bar at the top of your Web browser's menu and choose the site you want to link, or type in the website's address in the address field.

    • 3

Click on the website's address window; highlight and click the copy command keys on your keyboard to copy the entire URL with the cursor, starting with "http" and ending at the very last character, no matter how long the address is. Copying and pasting the URL directly from the website ensures that you are copying all the code; it is longer than just "www.websitename.com." If you are using a Macintosh computer, click the "apple" key and the "C" key at the same time to copy the URL. If you are using a PC, click the "Ctrl" and the "C" buttons simultaneously to copy the code.

    • 4

Sign in to your Facebook personal profile.

    • 5

Click on the field on either your profile or a friend's profile where you want to link a website.

    • 6

Click the paste command buttons on your keyboard to paste the website's URL into the field.

    • 7

Repeat Step 2 through Step 7 for each website you want to link to Facebook.
