How to Knit Two Sections of a Blanket Together
The majority of knitting projects are composed of smaller, flat pieces that have to be knitted or sewn together using a darning needle, which is a blunt needle large enough to use with yarn. Because the ends of these pieces are already finished, they cannot be knitted together in the traditional way with knitting needles.

1
Lay the pieces of knit material side by side, with the front of the project facing away from you. The stitching will be visible so you do not want it on the front of the blanket.
-
2
Pull the yarn thread up through the bottom righthand top loop of the lefthand piece, over this loop and under and through the bottom lefthand top loop of the righthand piece, which when the pieces are laid together should be right next to each other. Use yarn that is the same color as the rest of the knitting in case it shows on the other side. Continue this process, working up the seam of the two pieces, to bring them together.

3
Tie the yarn into a tight knot and trim any excess yarn once you reach the top of the seam to finish the joining of the two pieces neatly.
