1
Set the mood with candles. Cover as many solid surfaces as possible with pillar candles of various heights. You can use candles of any color, but white candles are classic for a romantic evening.

2
Decorate the bed with rose petals. Check with the hotel first to make sure this is OK, as some flowers can stain bedding. You can use artificial silk flowers instead as well. You can also place flowers on the floor from the door leading up to the bed.

3
Place flowers in vases around the room. Aside from petals on the bed, bouquets of flowers around the room not only add beauty, but also a natural, sweet smell to the room.
-
4
Lay out sensual foods. Place a silver tray on the bed or nightstand with foods that are considered aphrodisiacs as well as romantic snacks such as chocolate and strawberries. Include a bottle of champagne chilling in an ice bucket with two champagne flutes.

5
Run a bubble bath. A bubble bath is a sensual way to start off the evening. Monitor the tub when you are filling it up to avoid bubbles and water from overflowing.
