How to Change the Calibration Settings on an LED TV
When you bring home your LED television from the store, it won't be properly calibrated. This is because the TV manufacturer has calibrated the TV to provide the brightest, most vivid display. If you've never adjusted your TV's calibration, it will still have the factory settings. Changing the calibration on your LED television can create a more natural picture.

1
Turn on your LED television and let it warm up for approximately 30 minutes. This allows all of the components a chance to reach functioning temperature.
-
2
Turn on any lights in your TV room that will normally be on while you watch TV. If you attempt to calibrate your LED TV when none of your lights are on, the picture will seem too dim when you do turn on the lights.

3
Click "Menu" on your remote control. Look for "Video Settings" or "Picture Settings." Some LED TVs will have a "Calibration" menu. If not, you can usually find the calibration settings underneath the "Video Settings" menu.
-
4
Adjust brightness first. Move the slider to the left for less brightness and to the right for more brightness. The brighter your LED TV is set, the quicker it will burn out.
-
5
Change color saturation. Color saturation determines how colorful the image is. The more saturation, the more color. Less saturation equals less color.
-
6
Adjust the contrast. The contrast determines the difference between light and dark areas of the screen.
