How to Make Facebook Contacts
Without Facebook friends, you cannot take advantage of the many features Facebook offers. Facebook users can find contacts by searching for someone's name in the search bar. Users can search for classmates, co-workers or a friend of a friend to develop a wide range of Facebook contacts. After Facebook contacts are added, the user can communicate with contacts through Wall posts, messages and the Facebook chat feature.

Log into Facebook.

Enter the name of the person you want to add as a contact into the search bar at the top of the Facebook screen. Entering the first and last name is preferable, but you may still be able to find someone if her last name is not too common. If you do not see the name of the person in the first few search results, click "See more results for (contact's name)." You will see a full screen with all the people with the same or similar name.

Click the name of the person you want to add as a contact. On that person's profile, click "+1 Add Friend." A friend request will be sent to that person and after he accepts the request, he will become your Facebook friend.
