Spray the nut thoroughly with a penetrating catalyst. A penetrating catalyst is designed to loosen nuts and fittings, making them easier to turn. Allow the nut to soak in the catalyst for 15 to 20 minutes.
-
2
Tighten an adjustable wrench around the nut and use short powerful bursts to break the nut free. Apply more penetrating catalyst as you work the wrench to free the nut.

3
Install a diamond grinding wheel on a rotary tool if your previous effort yielded no results. Carefully cut through the nut without letting the grinding wheel come into contact with other parts of the faucet. You may have to make a cut on either side of the nut to remove it successfully. Use a pair of pliers to grasp the pieces and pull them out.
