How to Make a Large Bow With Craft Satin Ribbon
Create a large bow to top a gift box or decorate your home for a special occasion using a spool of pretty satin ribbon. Satin ribbon is available in both solid and patterned styles, with a variety of thicknesses; the ribbon you choose is up to you, and may change the look of the finished bow. As opposed to a traditional bow, this large bow project uses a technique that will create a floral bow with several loops to make it suitable for a variety of purposes.

1
Cut a piece of ribbon that is about 12 inches long and set it aside. Wrap ribbon from the spoon around the fingers of your non-dominant hand about four or five times, then cut the ribbon with your other hand. Remove the ribbon loops from your hand while keeping them together, and fold them in half.

2
Cut the two corners of the folded edge while being careful not to cut into the center of the fold. Unfold the ribbon loop and tie your other piece of ribbon around the ribbon in a knot, letting the excess ribbon hang down.

3
Separate the loops individually starting from the inside out, twisting each loop out and forward as it is separated from the other loops. Continue until all loops have been separated and it forms a "puffy" bow. Snip the hanging ribbon strands as short as you want them.
