How to Crochet a Blouse
Crochet is a method of weaving a stranded fabric using a single crochet hook. Using crochet, you can create your own customized shirts, hats, purses and accessories. Depending on the style of yarn and type of stitches you use, a crochet blouse can be a lightweight, breezy summer coverup, or a warm and cozy winter layer. Blouses are best suited for the experienced crocheter, familiar with basic crochet techniques such as chain, single crochet and double crochet. Practice working these fundamental stitches until you feel comfortable enough to begin your blouse project.

1
Chain 83 stitches. Single crochet in the second chain from the hook.
-
2
Skip two chains. Single crochet, chain one and double crochet in the next chain -- this forms what will be called the group stitch throughout this pattern. Repeat the group stitch until the last three chains, skip two and single crochet the last chain.

3
Chain one, single crochet one. Group stitch across each stitch until the last stitch and single crochet. Repeat this row until your piece measures 20 inches long.
-
4
Chain one, single crochet one, work eight group stitches and single crochet one. Leave the remaining stitches unworked and turn. Repeat this pattern for an additional inch and fasten off. This completes one half of the neck divide. Attach the yarn on the other side and repeat this step. This completes the back section of the blouse.

5
Repeat steps 1 to 4 for the front piece of the blouse, ending when the piece measures 18 inches long.

Chain 62 stitches. Work the same first two rows as for the back and front sections. Chain one, then single crochet one. Work in group stitches across. Chain one. Work two single crochets, chain one and a double crochet in the next stitch. Group stitch across. Repeat this last row eight more times and fasten off.
