Instructions

    • 1

Paint the walls in a color that complements the rest of your bedroom decor. For an ultramodern look, gray is an optimum choice. Bold colors of red or cool cobalt add vibrancy without compromising the contemporary flavor of your space.

Affix a single row of 4-by-4-inch self-adhesive mirrors to one side of the corner, starting at the floor and working your way to the ceiling. Repeat this on the other side of the corner so that the mirrors touch at the corner seam. Place two more rows of mirrors on each side.

    • 3

Frame several 5-by-7-inch black-and-white photos in nickel finish or black frames. Hang them from floor to ceiling on either side of the mirrors. Hang them so that there are no spaces between the frames, allowing the tops and bottoms of each to touch.

Flank the photos with modern sconces that allow light to bounce off the mirrors, illuminating the space behind your bed. This adds the illusion of expanding the space. Use sconces with adjustable arms if you do a lot of late-night reading. Install the lamps midway up the wall.

Place a small, narrow table behind the bed. Utilize the flat surface to hold practical items like your alarm clock and small wallet and change valet. Set a centerpiece in the middle of the table and use it to hold one of your favorite books or magazines.
