How to Get Wrinkles Out of Beaded Tulle
Designers use beaded tulle as wedding veils or as accents to wedding or prom dresses. Despite its stiff nature, tulle crushes easily and does not bounce back. Wrinkles from packaging, shipping or even traveling in a garment bag will not fall out without help. Beaded tulle requires special care since it cannot be ironed. Steam is the best way to remove wrinkles without damaging the beads or the tulle. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Inspect the beading on the tulle. Sewn-on beads will require the least attention. The adhesive on glued beads may soften during steaming. Beads with metal backing should be dried carefully to avoid rusting.
-
2
Hang the tulle on the back of your bathroom door or on a clothesline. Use a padded hanger to avoid creating creases in the tulle.
-
-
3
Turn on your shower using only hot wate, and allow the bathroom to fill with steam.
-
4
Allow the tulle to steam for 10 to 15 minutes.
-
5
Wrap your hand in a white, lint-free cloth and smooth out any wrinkles. Work between the beads rather than over them whenever possible.
-
6
Hold the tulle with both hands and gently stretch the fabric to release stubborn wrinkles. However, if the beads are glued on, do not stretch the tulle, since this may cause the beads to pop off.
-
7
Turn off the water in the shower and allow the steam to evaporate naturally.

Tips & Warnings
For stubborn wrinkles, use a home steamer, but try the shower method first. Home steamers will soften the adhesive on glued-on beads and may cause them to fall off.
