How to Troubleshoot an Android Eclipse AVD
An Android Virtual Device (AVD) lets you run an Android emulator, so you can test your Android apps on the programming computer. If the emulator does not run and you have issues, you must troubleshoot the problem. You can still program an Android app without the AVD, but you must upload the app to an Android table or phone without the emulator.

1
Create a new AVD in the Eclipse software. If the AVD file corrupts, you create a new AVD to return your emulator settings. Click the "Window" menu item in Eclipse, then click "Android SDK and AVD Manager." Type a name for the new AVD and click the version of Android you want to use. Click "Finish."

2
Wait several minutes for the emulator to load. You do not need to close and re-open the emulator during development. Instead, once you wait for the emulator to load, leave it open while you program.

3
Log the emulator errors. Click the Windows "Start" button and type "cmd." Type "cd path" where "path" is the location of the Android SDK. Press "Enter." Type "adb logcat" and press "Enter." Run the emulator and view the log for any errors.

4
Reinstall the Android SDK. If SDK files corrupt, you reinstall the Android SDK to fix the files. Download the zip file from the official Android page and reinstall the software. Run the emulator to test the new installation.
