How to Make a Rice Wreath

Use a natural wreath as inspiration to create a handmade rice wreath.

The Christmas season invites people to use their artistic talents to create holiday crafts. No need to shop for decorations. If you cook or bake, most of the materials needed for rice wreath-making can be located in your kitchen cabinets. Get creative and bring your basic culinary skills to this holiday crafty project.

Things You'll Need

• Green food coloring
• Glue
• Container
• Uncooked rice
• Hairpin
• Paper clip
• Red bead
• Gold glitter
• Bow

Instructions

1. Combine green food coloring with 1/4 cup of glue in a container.

2. Add 1/2 cup of rice to the mixture and stir.

3. Place soft and sticky mixture onto the lid.

4. Form the circular shape of a wreath.

5. Push hairpin or paper clip on the top of the wreath to hang when dry.

6. Dry overnight.

7. Stick red beads onto wreath according to your design.

8. Sprinkle gold glitter onto wreath.

9. Place a bow on the top or bottom center of the wreath.
