Instructions

    • 1

Place the 12-inch round pillow form over the folded fabric on a flat surface. Trace around the pillow form with the fabric pencil on the wrong side of the fabric. Cut out two fabric circles 2-inches past the pencil line.

    • 2

Pin and sew the fabric circles, right sides of the fabric facing each other, with a straight seam 1/4-inch from the circle edge, leaving a 10-inch section unsewn. Turn the pillow lining to the right side.

    • 3

Make a loop in the end of the yarn skein. Insert the crochet hook in the loop and pull the yarn strand through the loop to make a chain stitch. Repeat.

    • 4

Insert the hook in the first chain stitch, grasp the yarn strand and pull it through, grasping a second yarn strand and pulling it through both loops on the hook to make a single crochet stitch. Make 5 more single crochet stitches in the same chain stitch.

    • 5

Pin a safety pin in the last stitch to mark the row beginning. Crochet two single crochets in the top of each previous single crochet stitch for the second round.

    • 6

Move the safety pin to mark the row beginning. Crochet one single crochet stitch in the top of each previous single crochet stitch and move the safety pin. Repeat the last two rows -- alternating two stitches in each single crochet in one round and one stitch in each single crochet in the second round -- until the circle is the same size as the pillow lining.

    • 7

Cut the yarn with scissors, leaving a 4-inch tail. Pull the tail through the last stitch to finish. Work the tail back through the work with your hook to secure.

    • 8

Repeat steps 3 through 7 to create a second crochet circle.

    • 9

Sandwich the pillow lining between the two crochet circles. Thread your needle with coordinating thread. Hand sew through both crochet circles and the lining to connect the lining to the circles, leaving the 10-inch opening unsewn.

    • 10

Unzip the zipper. Fold in the unsewn lining edge 1/4-inch and pin one edge of the zipper to the lining edge and one crochet circle edge. Pin and hand sew the other zipper edge to the other folded lining edge and crochet circle. Insert the pillow form and zip the zipper.
