Instructions

    • 1

Fold a square piece of felt in half. From the folded end cut out two triangles with the scissors. Cut through two pieces of felt for each triangle since the felt was folded. For larger ears cut out larger triangles. Don't cut the fold so the felt separates. Keep the felt crease intact. When you're done each triangle should be attached to another triangle the same shape.

Make a triangle for the ear from a pipe cleaner. If the triangle is too large cut the pipe cleaner with scissors. Open a felt triangle cutout and put it flat on your working surface. Glue all three sides of your pipe cleaner. Put the base of your pipe cleaner on the fold of the felt triangle cutout. Pull both sides of the felt up and stick them to the pipe cleaner. Put glue on the inside of the triangle to close any gaps in the felt. Repeat this step with the other triangle felt cutout.

Fold the pink felt in half. Cut a small oval out of the felt on the crease so that the oval will be connected to another oval the same size from the second layer of felt. Cut these on the crease to separate them. Put a dab of glue on the middle of each triangle and glue the pink felt pieces in the centers, giving you an inner and outer ear.

Put a line of glue on the headband where you want the first ear to go. Hold the base of the triangle ear onto the headband until it dries. Repeat this with the second triangle ear. Put the headband on to ensure the ears are placed correctly.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure the glue is dry before putting the headband in your hair.

  • Never leave a child unattended with a glue gun.
