How to Make a Head Wreath With Sunflowers
Floral head wreaths are a great summer accessory, but they can be expensive to buy and limited in design. Roses and daisies are commonly used to make wreaths, but larger flowers, such as sunflowers, can also be used. The main problem with real sunflowers is they are heavy and can fall off the wreath wire. Whatever kind of flowers comprise the wreath, the basic construction of a wreath remains the same. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Wrap a piece of covered garden wire around your head and cut it to the correct size with the wire cutters. It can either be a full circle around the head or open at the front.
-
2
Pierce the stems, just below the bloom of the sunflowers, with the wire and push the flowers around the wreath wire. Real sunflowers can be used, but they are quite heavy and may pull themselves off the wire. Silk sunflowers are lighter and will hold their shape better.

3
Overlap the sunflowers on the wire to create a fuller looking wreath. Intersperse the wreath with leaves if you desire. Attach the leaves by wrapping them around the wire. Secure them with sticky tape.
-
4
Wrap tissue paper around any exposed pieces of wire and attach with sticky tape. Green tissue paper blends in the best.
-
5
Twist the two open ends of wire together and cover the wire with tissue paper. You can also turn both ends inward so they rest against the forehead.
