1
Paint your birdcage, if desired. Allow it to dry completely. Spray paint works best to cover the intricate bird-cage designs quickly.
-
2
Cover the bottom of your cage with sheet moss. This adds a natural quality while offering a base for the rest of your arrangement.
-
-
3
Add a small vase filled with flowers to the inside of the cage. If the cage is large, add three vases of varying sizes to fill it.
-
4
Place one or two sticks in the cage. Prop one end of each in the moss, and have the other ends sticking out of the cage slightly. Use blooming branches, such as cherry or dogwood branches, if they are in season.
-
5
Make a small bird's nest out of Spanish moss or raffia. Put the nest inside the cage, and place a small fake bird inside the nest.
-
6
Secure a bird to the top of the cage using florist wire, and add flowers if desired, securing them with florist wire as well.
-
7
Make additional nests for each place setting. Put your place cards inside the nests.
-
8
Wrap raffia around your napkins instead of napkin rings. Tie bird-shaped wine glass charms to the raffia.
-
9
Fill nests with chocolate eggs and place them in wedding-favor boxes for the guests to take home. Tie a small faux bird on the boxes with ribbon.
