How to Make Ceramic Out of Glue & White Bread
White glue and white bread make a surprisingly effective air-dry ceramic clay. You can then use the clay to make holiday ornaments, decorative pins, beads, pendants and buttons. By tinting the ceramic clay with food coloring, you can create your own custom ceramic clay colors. The project is best done with children over age 4.
Things You'll Need
- Four slices white bread
- Cereal bowl
- 3 tablespoons white glue
- 2 drops of lemon juice
- Food coloring

Pull the crusts from the white bread and tear the bread into small cubes that are about 1/2 inch square.

Place the bread squares in the cereal bowl and add the 3 tablespoons of white glue and 2 drops of lemon juice.

Knead together the bread cubes, glue and lemon juice with your hands for at least five minutes until it turns into a smooth ceramic clay.

Add food coloring to the clay one drop at a time to achieve the desired color.

Sculpt the ceramic objects and allow them to air dry for 24 hours, uncovered.
