DIY Stool Stencil
If you're looking for a way to make over your kitchen stools, consider making a custom stencil. You can use stencils to add a charming motif to the seat of the stool, and they're incredibly easy to make. With a bit of cardboard and a smidge of drawing talent, you'll have a stencil you can use over and over. Plus, making the stool stencil yourself will save the cost of purchasing one from a craft store.

Place a square of cardboard on the floor. Flip the stool over and lay it on the cardboard so the seat of the stool is flat against the cardboard.

Trace the outline of the stool seat onto the cardboard, using a pencil. Cut out the traced shape.

3
Draw an image onto the center of the cutout shape. The image can be anything you want, such as a star, heart, diamond or apple.
-
4
Cut the drawn image from the cardboard.
-
5
Lay the stencil on the stool seat and fill in the negative space, applying acrylic paint with a paintbrush. Let dry.
