DIY Pink Ranunculus Bridal Bouquet
The ranunculus is a striking flower that is perfect for bouquet arrangements. It looks like a small rose, except that a ranunculus blooms in a more shallow, circular arrangement. It is an ideal choice for the bride who wants a traditional bouquet without the obvious conventionality of roses. Bridal bouquets that a florist assembles are expensive, especially if the bouquet requires many stems, like a ranunculus bouquet. - Pink ranunculus, 24 to 120 stems
- Scissors
- Floral tape
- Glass or vase
- Ribbon

Remove all of the leaves from the stems.

Trim any stems that are longer than 9 inches. Ranunculus stems are thin enough that you can use scissors to trim them.

Lay the flowers in a row on your work surface.

Pull the loose end of the floral tape off the roll. Place the exposed, loose end on a surface that will keep it separate from the roll so that it is easy to grab. You will only have one free hand when you use the tape to bind the bouquet.

Select five flowers with the longest stems to begin the bouquet. Hold the five flowers together in one hand. This is the center of the bouquet.

Hold the bouquet at an angle with the blooms pointed toward your face. Arrange the flowers based only on how the blossoms look together.

Add flowers one or two at a time. Select blooms with the broadest petals or longest stems first. Place the flowers gradually lower in the bouquet as you work outward from the center. The finished bouquet should form a slight dome.

Continue adding flowers around the bouquet until it reaches the desired size.

Hold the arrangement in place with a tight grip. Pull the loose end of floral tape off the surface to which you secured it. Press the loose end of tape around the center of the stems. Wrap the roll of tape around the bouquet until you secure it firmly. Trim the tape with scissors.

Place the bouquet in a glass or vase for support. Leave as much of the stems exposed as possible.

Cut a piece of ribbon to tie around the bouquet. Cut 36 inches of ribbon for a small bouquet, 48 inches for a medium bouquet or 60 inches for a large bouquet.

Center the ribbon behind the taped portion of the stems. Wrap both ends around the bouquet at a slight angle to create a ribbon cuff around the stems. Wrap the ribbon until the cuff reaches the desired width.

Tie a simple bow with the ribbon to secure it. Trim the ribbon with scissors, if necessary.

Tips & Warnings
You need about 24 stems of ranunculus to fashion a small nosegay. To build a medium-sized bouquet, you should use 60 to 75 stems. To assemble a giant, lush bouquet, you need upward of 124 stems.
