How to Crochet Tubes
Use basic crochet skills to create a hollow tube of any length or width. Any yarn or fiber can be used to create a tube, as long as the correct hook size is used. Use your finished tube to accent a larger project, for surface adornment or for the arms and legs of a stuffed toy.
Instructions
-
-
1
Make a slipknot and chain 12 stitches.
-
2
Make a slip stitch to join the chain strip into a round.
-
-
3
Single crochet in each chain stitch around. Do not turn your work when you reach the join.
-
4
Continue stitching by doing a single crochet in each stitch. Your tube will grow as you work; there is no need to do a turning chain or turn the tube, as the process of knitting in this way creates a continuous spiral.

When the tube is the length you want, fasten it off and weave in the loose yarn ends at the beginning and end of the tube.

Tips & Warnings
To make a wider tube start with a longer chain; the more stitches you have in the larger the diameter of the tube will be.
To make a smaller tube, use fine yarn like sock yarn to make your tube.
Do not turn the tube as you work; work in a continuous spiral in one direction for best results.
