1
Make a coaster template by tracing the bottom of a round object that matches your desired coaster size, such as a vase or cup, onto a piece of cardboard. The coaster template should be between three and four inches in diameter. You can also use a stencil with a large round circle. Cut out the circle to be used as your coaster template.
-
2
Trace the coaster template onto your pieces of felt and cork and cut them out. One piece of felt should make between two and four coasters, depending on the size of the felt. Make all your coasters one color or use a variety of colors for different decorative possibilities.

Use the hole punches to create a pattern of your choice into each piece of felt to decorate it. You can use a simple round punch or other scrapbook punches such as hearts, stars or other shapes. Frame the coaster in small round punches or make patterns with different punches, like a large heart made out of a small heart punch.

4
Place glue on one side of each felt piece, carefully avoiding the punched holes. Flip it over and press it firmly to a cork piece.
