How to Sew a Zipper Pouch With Divider
Zipper pouches are a great way to keep your change, makeup or other small items in one place within a larger bag. A divided zipper pouch will give you the option of separating the items in your bag to limit damaging or dirtying fragile objects and save yourself time sifting through the pouch's contents. Things You'll Need
- Fabric
- Small zipper
- Sewing pins
- Sewing machine
- Overlocker
- Sewing scissors
- Fabric chalk

Visit your local fabric retailer and purchase the fabric you wish to use for your pouch, a thick fabric to use for the divider and a 5-inch zipper.

Measure and draw two 5-inch by 4-inch rectangles on the pouch fabric with a measuring tape and fabric chalk.

Measure and draw a rectangle 5inches long by 4 inches wide on the divider fabric with a measuring tape and fabric chalk.

Cut the three rectangle shapes out of the fabric with sewing scissors.

Place the two pieces of fabric that will constitute the pouch on top of one another, with the right sides of the fabric facing outwards.

Pin the zipper into place along the top of the pouch with sewing pins.

Sew along both sides of the zipper with your sewing machine.

Place the divider in between the two pieces of pouch fabric.

Pin along the bottom and the side seams of the pouch with sewing pins.

Overlock the bottom and the side seams of the pouch with your overlocker.
