How to End a Crocheted Leg Warmer
Crocheted leg warmers are both useful and fun to make. You should end them at the bottom of the leg, and for them to fit snugly, you should take exact measurements of the ankle that you're making the leg warmer for so that they fit snugly and don't slip down. You should end a crocheted leg warmer with a few rows of the same length so as to create a "cuff" that will hold the leg warmer in place. Once you have a cuff, you can cut off the yarn and weave in the ends as usual.

1
Before you begin the leg warmer, measure the leg length and ankle circumference of the person who will be wearing it. Crochet the leg warmer until it's an inch or so short of the leg length.
-
2
Check the size of the bottom of the leg warmer. If its circumference is greater than the circumference of the ankle, undo eight to ten rows and remake them, decreasing by one stitch every two rows. If the circumference is less than the ankle size, undo the rows and redo them without decreasing.

3
Chain one and put a single crochet stitch in each of the stitches below it. Join the row with a slip stitch.
-
4
Repeat Step 3 without decreasing the number of stitches until the bottom cuff of the leg warmer is the length that you want it, at least an inch long.
-
5
Cut the end of the yarn, leaving a tail of about 15 inches. Thread the tail through a blunt tapestry needle and whipstitch around four or five stitches at the bottom of the leg warmer. Trim off the extra yarn.

Tips & Warnings
Because yarn can stretch, you may want to make the leg warmer end a little smaller than the actual ankle measurement.
