How to Troubleshoot the LCD on a T1i
The Rebel T1i by Canon is a prosumer Digital SLR camera that comes with a Thin Film Transistor color liquid-crystal monitor. The monitor enables you not only to preview shots before and after you take them, but you can also adjust camera settings and functions as well. Under normal use, the LCD display will work well. However, you may run into occasional problems that require attention. Troubleshooting LCD problems may help you take better shots by improving display.

Move the "Power" switch to the "OFF" position if the LCD monitor does not display a clear image.

Wipe the monitor with a soft cloth. Don't use abrasive liquid cleansers, such as glass cleaner, that can damage the LCD screen.

Move the camera away from extremely hot, humid or cold temperatures if the LCD monitor display appears slow or black. Leaving it in room temperature will allow it to return to normal.

Press the "Menu" button if the screen is too dark or too bright. Select the "Settings" tab, a wrench icon, and select "LCD Brightness." Press the right- or left-arrow buttons to increase or decrease brightness, then press the "SET" button.

Press the "Menu" button if the LCD screen turns off automatically. Select the "Settings" tab and select "LCD auto off." Select "Disable," then press "SET."

Tips & Warnings
If the LCD monitor is left on for a prolonged period, screen burn-in may occur and affect image display. This problem is temporary and usually disappears if the camera is left unused for a few days.
