1
Paint the walls the colors of your favorite team -- perhaps in muted, pastel versions if you don't want to go bold -- or hang up wall paper that features items related to a sport, like baseballs and bats. Some wallpapers also feature multiple sports designs, such as basketballs, soccer balls and footballs. If murals are more your style, paint a baseball diamond or a basketball court on the wall.

2
Hang sports memorabilia on the walls. Posters of players, banners and flags make stylish wall-hangings, as do team logos. Framed players' shirts look good on walls, too. You could even hang a miniature scoreboard on one wall.

Decorate the crib and windows with sports-themed bedding and curtains. Fabrics that feature sports-related items work well, as do those that are the same shades as your favorite team's colors. Sports equipment, like a baseball bat, hockey stick or golf club, can take the place of a curtain rod.

Set sports-related items on tables and shelves in the room. For instance, a baseball bat or ball on a shelf would work with the sports theme. Even painting sports-themed objects on shelves and tables would suit the room. For instance, drawing hot dogs and popcorn on a shelf would fit in a baseball-themed nursery, as would mitts, bats and balls. Attach novelty sports-related drawer pulls to the baby's dresser, or put plush toy sports equipment around the room.

Tips & Warnings
Really set the room off by painting lyrics to a sports-themed song or a quote from your favorite player on the wall.
If you choose to paint, go with a paint that has limited or no volatile organic compounds, as it will create fewer fumes.
