How to Decorate a Wedding With Mirrors

Mirrors can appeal to a vintage theme or a contemporary one.

Mirrors are a useful tool for decorating an event space, especially for a wedding. When placed correctly and with care, mirrors can make a space appear larger and more spacious. Mirrors also reflect light and can help the room to sparkle and glisten. Depending on the type and style of the mirrors you select, the mirrors can also help enhance the theme and tone of the wedding, whether it be modern or vintage.

Things You'll Need

• Mirrors
• Candles
• Rhinestones and beads
• Disco ball
• Rose petals

Instructions

1. Cover the tables with mirrors cut to match the shape of the tables or place small, square or round mirrors on the centers of the tables to reflect the centerpieces.

2. Place candles on the table tops or around the perimeter of the centerpiece mirrors so that the mirrors reflect the glistening light.

3. Scatter beads and rhinestones on top of the mirror.

4. Hang an assortment of mirrors on an otherwise plain or blank wall at the reception. Choose mirrors that reflect the tone of the wedding. For example, use a collection of flat, round mirrors of various sizes to reflect a contemporary theme. For a vintage theme, gather a variety of antique mirrors and hang them in a collage on the wall.

5. Suspend a disco ball from the ceiling over the center of the dance floor. When it spins and turns above the dance floor, it reflects the light in the room, causing specks of light to be cast in all directions.

6. Place any items in the room you want to highlight, such as the wedding cake or the card basket, on top or mirrors.

7. Lay rose petals on top of the mirror around the highlighted item, such as the cake.
