How to Make an Easy Rosette
When you decide to sew your own clothing or accessories in order to save money, you can end up spending a lot of money on sewing decorations, such as fabric rosettes. Instead of buying pre-made fabric rosettes from a store, make your own rosettes using inexpensive crafting supplies. This also enables you to customize the look of the handmade fabric rosettes by allowing you to select the particular fabrics, thread and other materials for adding detail.
Instructions

-
1
Cut a rectangle out of cotton fabric using scissors to measure 6 inches wide and 24 inches long.
-
2
Fold the rectangle in half widthwise. Pin the doubled edge using straight pins, leaving a seam allowance of 1/2 inch.
-
-
3
Stitch the pinned edge with a needle and thread using a basting stitch. Remove the straight pins and pull the basting stitch slightly to make the doubled edge gathered. Knot the thread onto the end of the rectangle.
-
4
Wind the sewn rectangle into a spiral, winding it tightly at first, then more loosely as you reach the end.
-
5
Sew the end of the rectangle onto itself to secure the curled rosette in place. Cut off the excess thread with scissors.
-
6
Place the rosette onto a tabletop with the sewn side on the bottom, and flatten the rosette with your palm. This will complete the easy-to-make rosette.
