How to Turn Messaging Settings to Text on an Android

If you've inadvertently changed your text messaging to voice-based entry rather than text-based, your Android phone will require you to speak into it to translate your words to text. You can restore your settings back to the text-entry keyboard by canceling Speech-to-Text Mode. This is a simple procedure you can accomplish in under a minute.

Instructions

1. Tap the "Applications" menu on your Android device.

2. Tap "Messaging" and begin composing a new message.

3. Tap "Cancel" to close the voice entry window. Speech-to-Text mode is canceled and the text-entry keyboard on your Android device is restored.
