How to Get Rid of the Smell on New Dishwashers
New appliances sometimes come with a smell, including dishwashers. These enclosed units can capture odor from storage facilities, chemicals used during manufacturing and other elements that the unit comes into contact with before it reaches your home. Fill up the dishwasher detergent reservoir with detergent.

Pour 2 cups white vinegar into the bottom of your dishwasher to assist in deodorizing.

Turn on your dishwasher with a mild wash cycle and let the cycle complete. The mixture of ingredients will clean and deodorize your new unit, making it ready for use.
